Day 1: Upon arrival to Johannesburg, a driver will greet and transfer you from O.R Tambo International Airport to the hotel in Pretoria, a 40 minute drive. Day 2: After a delicious breakfast, a driver will transfer you to the train station for a 10am departure. Day 3: Spend today relaxing on board as the train proceeds through the landscapes of Botswana towards Zimbabwe. Your overnight stop is at Mpopoma.
Day 4: Today, travel along the eastern border of Hwange National Park, the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe, on one of the continent’s longest stretches of straight railway line, which measures seventy miles. Stop at Kennedy Station for a game drive at The Hide before reboarding for dinner and an overnight stop at Thompson Junction.
Day 5: This morning, arrive at your destination, one of the natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls. These thunderous falls transforms the Zambezi from a placid river into a ferocious torrent cutting through a series of dramatic gorges.
At the train station, you will be met by a personal driver who will take you to the hotel. One of the world’s classic five-star hotels commands prime location overlooking Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, an acclaimed natural wonder of the world. Day 6: After a leisure breakfast, join in a tour of the falls and learn the interesting stories and facts about this spectacular waterfall.
This evening, you are in for a treat. What better way to experience the river than with a sunset cruise. The river is home to great pods of hippos and crocodiles regularly seen basking on the banks or gliding through the water. Elephants, giraffe, buffalo, waterbuck, kudu, impala, baboons and monkeys, along with a plethora of exotic birds are regular sightings.
Day 7: After checking out of the hotel, a driver will transfer you to the airport for a 2.5 hour flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival at Cape Town airport, a driver will transfer you to the five start hotel for a three night stay.
Day 8: Cape Town is historically, culturally and visually, a most diverse, breathtakingly scenic and vibrant city. Todays adventure starts with a cable car ride down Table Mountain, a flat table-topped mountain, also known as one of the Natural Wonders of the World. From there, make a trip down to the oldest building in the country, Cape Town’s very own castle – walk through the courtyard from the torture chambers to the canons to the fancy dining area said to be haunted by royalty, it’s a truly eerie and thrilling experience giving you a real vision into Cape Town’s history.
Day 9: Today, experience the full flavor of the Cape with a trip down the peninsula. With it’s combinations of scenic drives such as Chapmans Peak, getting up close and personal with Africa’s very own penguins species. Stand at the most southwestern corner of Africa, the iconic Cape of Good Hope, with its wonderful history, wildlife and wonder.
